I hope you are having a wonderful start to the week, and thank you for all your lovely comments on my last post, they are very much appreciated.
The kids are off school, they want to 'do stuff', so I decided to manage my time effectively. I can totally read blogs, take the kids out, go to work, sleep, clean, cook, iron, deal with stuff, yadda yadda etc. So far I have burned 2 family meals, took children out without breakfast, forgot to brush my teeth, have a stripe of un-shaven hair on my leg, and buggered my hip, I know, I'm a success!
I spoke to my Mum yesterday, she had been on a 7 mile walk and is getting ready to fly out on Thursday for her holiday with 'the girls', they really are legends. On holiday, they shop, sun-bathe, travel and then party like demons in the night. All done dressed fabulously (My Dad completely enjoys this break, he will not be coaxed over for food or accept visits, he just relaxes)
A water fountain at Sefton Park
The cave is one of my favourite spots in the park
I was horribly competitive here,
I had decided to perform better than the poor man in the next bay. Who had done nothing to incite it, nothing!
I had decided that you can hit great shots in a dress
........ then massively split a seam
Daisy chains forever
I am pretending to climb a tree
I am about 2 and a half feet off the ground
and had a moment trying to get down
The girls pretending to be horrified over the graffitti
I believe one of the greatest luxuries in life is line dried, clean bed sheets.
Work clothes for the un-inspired
it got coooold
The Super Moon
I must go to bed,
it starts again in the morning!
I will love you and leave you,
until next time!

Oh, I do hope your hip gets better soon. That park looks beautiful and the cave...I'd love to explore that! Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteYour family are all super cute and I adore the sassy picture of you in front og the graffitti wall.
I just love the gorgeous April pink moon.
Have a wonderful day Sandra xx
Caves are so cool! it was full of cobwebs too! my family thank you for your lovliness! x x x
DeleteAt least you've managed to get out and about ... it's school holidays here and we've barely managed to get out of bed!
ReplyDeleteHope your hip feels better ... perhaps you should try to avoid climbing trees until then ;0)
xx
Mine complained so much it was easier to take them out, pah, although getting out of bed is a huge challenge for me too! x x x
DeleteI adore that floral orange and white dress. It looks like a Dorothy Perkins.
ReplyDeleteBoo about the hip. It doesn't look like you are feeling too bad in the photos if that helps any. (probably won't though)
Your Mom sounds like the kind of gal I could hang out with.
bisous
Suzanne
It's a lovedrobe dress with the most ridiculous gapey arm holes! you would have a hoot with my Mum, I'm going to gatecrash! x x x
DeleteLove the outfits; looking fabulous as always! The park looks really pretty. I'm sure school holidays must be exhausting for parents, but it must be nice to have some quality time together, also. Hope your hip feels better soon. xx
ReplyDeleteIt is exhausting haha! but what's good is they will sleep! thanks Louise x x x
DeleteWhat a beautiful day in the park! Time management doesn't matter in a place like that. Your lovely frocks are just the thing for a springtime outing. Was it the golfing that did your hip in?
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with your dad - if my husband is away, I don't want to go out. I enjoy having the house to myself.
Yes! bloody golf! it's ok now, I have grumbly hips though (non-medical term) - it is lovely having the house isn't it? x x x
DeleteStep away from the tree! Good job I wasn't climbing with you we'd have been buggered! I think I may well have peed me drawers trying to get down! Lovely girls, like their mum :D Have fun in the hols x
ReplyDeleteHa! Sue, you are hilarious! we could have called the fire brigade to save us, getting down is never easy! x x x
DeleteHello Sandra,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time you had as a family. It is so good that you have such an excellent park close by. There is nothing better on a fine sunny day than simply exploring the great outdoors!
We fully agree about the line dried sheets. How we envy HM The Queen whom we imagine to have crisply ironed linen sheets fresh from the outdoor drying rooms at Buckingham Palace every day. Now that would be a luxury we could definitely live with no matter how many handshakes and smiles we should have to perform as a result!
We do believe that you have more changes of clothes in a day than we should wear in a week. The laundry must be a nightmare but you always have the perfect something for every occasion.....goodness knows what the size of your wardrobe must be. And, like mother like daughters......fashion mavens already!
Thank you! oh to have clean bed linen daily! The Queen drove past during her 25th anniversary of her coronation, we were from the local school and allowed to watch, our teacher made us wave like The Queen for 20 minutes when we returned so we knew what it felt like to be her, it's the nearest I have got! x x x
DeleteFrom the owner of a knackered hip I feel your pain. Get some ice on it and rest up.
ReplyDeleteSefton Park looks ace, between you and Curtise you're totally selling Liverpool to me. Love yopur pretty frocks and still madly envious of that orange blazer.
Your Mum sounds like a girl after my own heart! xxx
Rest made a difference! it's back to normal now thanks Vix - and yeah definitely, I can see you and my Mum having a blast! she's like a machine, she just keeps going x x x
DeleteSo whats in the cave??????? That park looks lovely as, great place to prance, climb trees and pose for photos. I too love line dried sheets and towels, nothing quite like it is there. You are looking quite summery in your gorgeous frock!!
ReplyDeleteThe cave is full of cobwebs, graffiti and is quite small, and I love it! it was always the park my Dad took us when we were little, and thank you Sue! x x x
DeleteYep, we are on Easter hols too, so far I am letting the kids sort themselves out...
ReplyDeleteSefton Park looks great - I love parks, anywhere that's free and fun is alright with me! You and the girls look adorable, love that little frock with the fab orange jacket.
Gorgeous blossom against the blue sky, hurray for Spring and getting the washing out on the line - that's my next job! xxxx
Yes to free and fun! they go back to school next week, and I'm sooo looking forward to a bit of peace and quiet - I hope it's good weather tomorrow x x x
DeleteSounds like a run-down of way too many of my domestic epic fails. Lots of burnt food and unwashed laundry has been the running theme these holidays. Best thing is to get OUT of the house I say and you've certainly done the right thing by exploring the outdoors in style :). xox
ReplyDeleteyou are right, leave it behind! domesticity is the most un-natural thing in the world, I'm such a whiney domestic!! x x x
DeleteDear Sandra, I know what you mean! I think I can handle everything, but in the end I do it most ungracefully - tell me about burnt meals!! I want to take vacations like your mum's when I "grow up". I love when your daughters are featured in the pics, the idea of their complicity with you is moving. Let me tell you how fabulous you look in the two dresses you are wearing. They compliment your figure very well. I wish you a lovely hump day!

DeleteI had a good laugh, Sandra! You funny, as my little daughter used to say. :) I am so sorry to hear about your hip. Hope you will recover soon! It looks like you have a wonderful family time, despite the misadventures. What a gorgeous park! You and your girls look beautiful. But you always do! :) What pretty floral dresses on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Natalia! I think the misadventures make life a whole lot funnier! we like to have a giggle over them x x x ps hip is better! x x x
Deletelove you, love that you took on an innocent man on at golf, love that you climb trees as badly as me, love that you prance your fabulousness at graffiti and split seams being awesome, love that your favourite spot is the cave...it would be mine as well! Love it all xxxx

Love that you climb trees and play golf in your gorgeous frocks! Atta girl! And one day if you want to see uninspiring you should see my work wear. Uuuggghhhh! it would give you nightmares. Have a great Easter! XXX
ReplyDeleteOh no! do you wear a uniform? one uniform 't' shirt I had 'try me' or something very similar on my right boob, oh sweet shame! and I don't want to talk about the shell tracksuit pants *shiver* I feel your pain x x x

ReplyDeleteAw thanks Shawna! and my hip is well again, phew x x x
DeleteOmigiddyaunt I love your Blog and will probably be up til tomorrow reading it! What a funny lady you are. Figured out why you bought the prunes yet?!
ReplyDeleteHehe! thank you and welcome! it's lovely to have you here, the prunes may become a smoothie, there will be no plans to leave the house though! x x x
DeleteNothing gets you down, does it? Just out galavanting around with the fam. Golfing in a dress, climbing trees in a DRESS! I'd be in my pj's making everyone wait on me. And that dress. Extra super cute. Just like you!
ReplyDeleteI get real competitive at games too, beat my family at darts this week on holiday, it seemed to upset one of my brothers who is also very competitive. I am useless at time management. i thought I was getting better, but I'm just getting better at procrastinating! xx
