Time management for beginners

I hope you are having a wonderful start to the week, and thank you for all your lovely comments on my last post, they are very much appreciated.

The kids are off school, they want to 'do stuff', so I decided to manage my time effectively.  I can totally read blogs, take the kids out, go to work, sleep, clean, cook,  iron, deal with stuff, yadda yadda etc.  So far I have burned 2 family meals, took children out without breakfast, forgot to brush my teeth, have a stripe of un-shaven hair on my leg, and buggered my hip, I know, I'm a success!

I spoke to my Mum yesterday, she had been on a 7 mile walk and is getting ready to fly out on Thursday for her holiday with 'the girls', they really are legends. On holiday, they shop, sun-bathe, travel and then party like demons in the night.  All done dressed fabulously (My Dad completely enjoys this break, he will not be coaxed over for food or accept visits, he just relaxes)

A water fountain at Sefton Park

The cave is one of my favourite spots in the park

I was horribly competitive here,
I had decided to perform better than the poor man in the next bay.  Who had done nothing to incite it, nothing!
I had decided that you can hit great shots in a dress
........ then massively split a seam

Daisy chains forever

I am pretending to climb a tree
I am about 2 and a half feet off the ground
and had a moment trying to get down

The girls pretending to be horrified over the graffitti

I believe one of the greatest luxuries in life is line dried, clean bed sheets.

I must go to bed,
it starts again in the morning!

I will love you and leave you,
 until next time!

  2. At least you've managed to get out and about ... it's school holidays here and we've barely managed to get out of bed!
Hope your hip feels better ... perhaps you should try to avoid climbing trees until then ;0)

  3. I adore that floral orange and white dress. It looks like a Dorothy Perkins.

Boo about the hip. It doesn't look like you are feeling too bad in the photos if that helps any. (probably won't though)

Your Mom sounds like the kind of gal I could hang out with.

  4. Love the outfits; looking fabulous as always! The park looks really pretty. I'm sure school holidays must be exhausting for parents, but it must be nice to have some quality time together, also. Hope your hip feels better soon. xx

  5. What a beautiful day in the park! Time management doesn't matter in a place like that. Your lovely frocks are just the thing for a springtime outing. Was it the golfing that did your hip in?

I have to agree with your dad - if my husband is away, I don't want to go out. I enjoy having the house to myself.

  7. Hello Sandra,

What a fun time you had as a family. It is so good that you have such an excellent park close by. There is nothing better on a fine sunny day than simply exploring the great outdoors!

We fully agree about the line dried sheets. How we envy HM The Queen whom we imagine to have crisply ironed linen sheets fresh from the outdoor drying rooms at Buckingham Palace every day. Now that would be a luxury we could definitely live with no matter how many handshakes and smiles we should have to perform as a result!

We do believe that you have more changes of clothes in a day than we should wear in a week. The laundry must be a nightmare but you always have the perfect something for every occasion.....goodness knows what the size of your wardrobe must be. And, like mother like daughters......fashion mavens already!

    1. Thank you! oh to have clean bed linen daily! The Queen drove past during her 25th anniversary of her coronation, we were from the local school and allowed to watch, our teacher made us wave like The Queen for 20 minutes when we returned so we knew what it felt like to be her, it's the nearest I have got! x x x

Sefton Park looks great - I love parks, anywhere that's free and fun is alright with me! You and the girls look adorable, love that little frock with the fab orange jacket.

  11. Sounds like a run-down of way too many of my domestic epic fails. Lots of burnt food and unwashed laundry has been the running theme these holidays. Best thing is to get OUT of the house I say and you've certainly done the right thing by exploring the outdoors in style :). xox

  12. Dear Sandra, I know what you mean! I think I can handle everything, but in the end I do it most ungracefully - tell me about burnt meals!! I want to take vacations like your mum's when I "grow up". I love when your daughters are featured in the pics, the idea of their complicity with you is moving. Let me tell you how fabulous you look in the two dresses you are wearing. They compliment your figure very well. I wish you a lovely hump day!

  25. I get real competitive at games too, beat my family at darts this week on holiday, it seemed to upset one of my brothers who is also very competitive. I am useless at time management. i thought I was getting better, but I'm just getting better at procrastinating! xx
