Mr F ended up being offered 3 jobs, he went for 4, so he was pretty chuffed when he got the job he really, really wanted, Hurrah's all round!
It's going to be pretty intense, he will work away from home 2 days a week and we expect it will demand a lot of his time. It will start in September.
My new job will be at home, I am resigning today.
I have absolutely no doubt it will be hard. Mr F and I are a team and have been very good at not burning the house down, feeding everyone almost on time and remembering important stuff mostly last minute, we share a lot of household responsibilities, but I am now promoted to full time housewife......scared? yes, to be honest I'm bricking it. I had a few trial runs of organised domestic stuff the other day, I got bored and played on the hand crank sewing machine instead. I am going to have to get used to not earning my own money, not having an occupation yet always being in work. I do realise however I am in a very, very fortunate position. All I need is a routine........and wine probably.
cheeky pigeons who come to eat the rabbits food, they come every day
I may be addicted
possibly one of my best seams ever
Missy is having a day out with the school
as she is now 13 she has started to wear moody eye make-up
(she made the felt cover using the glue gun)
I am currently full of spots and wanted to play with the make-up
and then I remembered I really don't like eye-shadow on me
I love this dress
she has a few holes
so this is my solution
I'm faffing and posing
Whiskers started cleaning
Whiskers was cleaning himself, for his dignity I had to censor
he can be very thorough
I am linking in with Anne
52 pick me up; Fairytale
appropriate really
I hope you are all wonderful, enjoying the weather where you are and being flaming fabulous, and thank you for your most lovely comments on my last post
*flutters eyelashes and does big happy smile*
till next time lovelies

Well done, Mr F! All that free time to perfect your sewing skills, its going to be amazing. I don't have a clue about housework, I just run about with a dustpan and brush when the fluff balls start to annoy me, you'll be fine.
ReplyDeleteLove how you've disguised your imperfect spotty frock. Thank goodness you censored Whisker's toileting, poor lad will never pull. xxx
Congratulations to Mr F ... that's fabulous news ... things just have a way of working themselves out.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Stay at home housewife brigade ... we're a fabulous bunch ... and once you've got your routine down pat you'll find plenty of time for your new obsession. But if Mr F asks you're busy, busy, busy ... can't go to work ... too busy ;0)
xx
That is the perfect outfit for a fairytale.
ReplyDeleteBig changes ahead. I have a feeling you will enjoy it. Plus the bunnies and cat will have company all day long now.
bisous
Suzanne
Fabulous fairy tale frock! Your sewing skills are on the up! If I can manage the stay at home job, anyone can. You'll be fine. Looking forward to more creative creations! And more piccies of the pets. PS. Love the hat, so cute! XO JJ
ReplyDeleteWell done Mr F , you will be wonderful in what ever you do Sandra, a great post ! have a good week x
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mr F, and congrats on your sewing! Clever!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking!
Hey, you and me, kid, Housewives on Wine! Well done to Mr F, and good luck to both of you for the new routine - it'll take some adjusting to, and if you're anything like me, you'll never really get the hang of the housework part... Ah well. Our talents lie in other directions, Sandra, such as posing, faffing, sewing, and arsing about.
ReplyDeleteNice job on the frock rescue, and on maintaining Whiskers' dignity. Cats like that, even more than they like strenuously thorough grooming of All The Areas.
Cute hat, by the way. And if you discover any tips for keeping the house straight, the kids in line, tea on the table, AND your sanity intact, do let me know! xxxx
Good luck with the new things in your life although I beleive that down the road you will work outside the house again or somehow make your own money. Flylady net has helped me establish routines and become organised more or less. You are making a lot of progress in sewing! Good luck to Mr.F,too, you must be so proud of him!
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit today, what a cute way to hide the holes! I have to say I love being a stay at home mom, but I do miss having my own money. Good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteWell done to Mr F, three job offers including the one he really, really wants seems like a result to me.
ReplyDeleteI have no advice on stay at home housewife stuff as I have never done it, but I'm sure you will wonder how you ever found time to go to work.
Great sewing and posing and cute hat. xx
Wow---lots of changes, huh? Congrats to you BOTH... When I retired (after being a workaholic all of my adult life), my friends said that I'd get bored and be wishing to go back to work. That NEVER happened.. I love retirement and can always find WAY too much to do... You will do GREAT I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Great dress and cute hat! Kisses dear.

Oh that last photo of you giggling is so cute! Love your sewing and your hat - wonderful on you! No wonder you loved my polka dot dress - you have almost identical one! I have to say, I thought about you when I looked at my photos in that dress... they reminded me of someone... :) You look adorable, as always!
ReplyDeleteMr F did an amazing job on finding what he really likes! I imagine it'll be hard on you guys to be separate for 2 days every week. But you are such a creative soul, Sandra - I am sure you'll find tons of things to do, and I don't mean cleaning!! For one - blogging more often, it's always a joy to read your posts.
Love xxx
Housewifery! It is one tough gig. But you're right. Wine helps. In fact, it is Required! Congrats to the Mister. I've put in my hours on the home front and the pay is terrible but the time with the kiddos and the pets is priceless. Can't wait to see what pops put of your sweing machine!
ReplyDeleteSewing machine!
DeleteA whole new adventure, how exciting! I stayed at home for a few years and absolutely loved it. It doesn't matter how organised you are, you'll never feel you're on top of it all and who cares anyway?! Enjoy! x
ReplyDeleteCan you get any more adorable? Congratulations to Mr F! It's exciting and scary to start a whole new way of doing things but I know you can do it! You won't ever feel you are organised or on top of everything so don't expect it of yourself. Feed your kids and the animals and then go and sew! I wish I loved sewing. I wish I even liked sewing. I would rather wave a magic wand.

I thought the next photo would be the money shot, they lick there because they CAN!!! Full time housewife, WOOHOO!!! You might be able to get some part time work later on when you have your routine all sussed. But I bet you keep busy doing what ever the hell you want with your days. I love working only part time and would be happy to be unemployed if I had some one paying me still. That bit of cash on hand is nice. Hey well done Mr F, 3 offers indeed. So pleased he is going to be doing the job he wanted. Give him a hug from me and you can pinch his bum to if you like!
ReplyDeleteAwesome about hubbys job :D After a while you'll start to wonder how your ever had time to work! :D They say a woman's work is never done. xx
ReplyDeleteDear Sandra, I'm sure you will do great! You are so brilliant, you won't get bored! It's a win win if your husband got the job of his dreams and you are not sad about resigning (I deffy wouldn't be sad). Maybe you'll become a seamstress looking at the awesome dresses you make for yourself. You look fab by the way! Whiskers behave! Tons of love my dear!!!!

Congratulations to your husband, that's brilliant!
ReplyDeleteYour sewing skills seem to be coming on in leaps and bounds, well done!
I love that you've teamed your dress with a white petticoat and tp, it looks lovely.
I love your daughter's lovely felt creation too xx
Way to go, Mr. F! You'll have to start watching the soaps in the afternoon so you don't get bored being at home! A person can cook and clean for only so long, you know... ;)
ReplyDeletewhat news! congrats to your man about the new job! ... and congrats on your new job. i can't wait to read about your experiences as being a full time house wife soon.
ReplyDeletei don't know, if i could do that. when i was unemployed and looking for a new job i almost got crazy (and lazy) ... since i have my tiny new job i feel much better. it brings more structure to my life.
Hello sweetie, how did it go? I mean the resigning part? It must have been somehow hard. Always thinking about my gorgeous friend :-)

I feel you. I'm being a full-time housewife right now too. It has its ups and downs for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh my dear!!!! So much going on!! I love your sewing; seems to me that will help keep you sane as you work "inside" the home vs "outside". If you ever need affirmation about your wonderfulness, I know that your blogging community will be happy to cheer, myself included. XXOO
ReplyDeleteDear and amazing lady... Would you like to be my parnet in the next Share in Style please? Sorry my horrible english please!! Find me in Facebook (Elena Novales) Kisssssssssssssssssssssssss
ReplyDeleteFelicidades por el nuevo trabajo, Bonito vestido de lunares. Besos
ReplyDeleteI read your newer post first and I had to quickly backtrack, all alarms ringing. Well, turns out this is indeed good news, which may involve lots of new contortions (make sure you take photos) but will be worth it. You best seams is one of the most heaven-sent godly seams I have ever seen. We want to see more faffing about!! Ha!
ReplyDeleteLike MĆ©lanie i started to read your newer post and quickly backtrack - Congrats to Mr. F, it's great when you can get the position you want! As for you, you seem happy to be a stay at home wife and you will be fine! I love staying at home- I will find it hard to go back to work - Love the sewing i have been trying my hand on sewing lately but will i be able to beat your best seam?
