You don't need plus fours when you have cowboy boots

I have a belief that all of us have talents, something we do for the first time and we are brilliant at.

The first time I played golf at a driving range I realised golf isn't my talent (as well as pottery, any sport, cooking, gardening, hair, singing, acting - this list goes on) however this doesn't diminish my optimism at all.  This year at our local park we had an archery taster session, I was there, kids were good and I bounced up obviously ready to show my awesome powers, I had to ask the poor embarrassed man what I need to do about my huge bosom which kept getting in the way, predictably  I was rubbish.

My current attempt at crochet

It's meant to be square

Saturday, charity shopping, my flipping hair was playing up, the bag I got in Wales (yup, charity shop)that I fell in love with

Monday, a farm, what is wrong with my hair? the handle fell of my bag, bugger,  Missy looking divine in her 50's effect charity shop number

Today we went the driving range, my cowboy boots I love, my automatic nerf gun I love too, my hair has been attacked and forced into straight submission
I love my cowboy boots, they are a size 4, once upon a time I believed all new shoes were sore and had to be really really broken in, it never occurred that maybe I actually was a size 5

and I am allowed to vote

Tasty golf shot

On a positive note to the world, I have produced an intelligent lot.  My eldest passed her 'A' LEVELS, blinking nora I am so proud, she's off to University in September (staying at home) and is the first woman ever in my family to do so.  She has also learned to use a tin opener this week (she won't be happy I shared that!!!)

do share your talents, I am always in awe of talented people
I think it would be lovely to turn your hand to something
(so to speak)

See you soon you awesome bunch of lovliness
xxxxxxxxxx

  1. You know what your talent is, Sandra? Being funny, being you! As daft as that sounds, having an authentic, engaging, funny voice on a blog is NOT something everyone manages, but you do it effortlessly.
I laughed at the image of your wondrous bazoomas getting in the way of the bow, I chuckled at your crochet, I squealed "oh no!" at the handle falling off your bag, and sniggered at your shoe size story. See? This is what you're good at!
Love those frocks, and your hair is fine, you daft bugger!
Many congratulations to your daughter, she's done brilliantly.
I have no particular talents to speak of, apart from the ability to string a few sentences together, remember loads of song lyrics, and drink pints. Not great for the CV but it'll do! xxxx

I am genuinely touched by your lovely words, Hell I'm a little misty (I'm an emotional sod)thank you!- btw remembering song lyrics is pretty cool, I make them up and stringing sentences together is very useful, one time I forgot the word for a mat and ended up mimicking like a bull what you do on one and drinking pints I share! xx

  2. You are hilarious and you're a damned sight better at crochet than I was, I couldn't even get a loop to stay on the hook.
Loving that square dancing number complete with cowboy boots and I'm thrilled at your daughter's success.
I've the memory of an elephant and can apply lipstick without a mirror. Will that do? xxx

  3. LOL @ your crochet ... but the trick to being good at something is to be really convincing when you pretend it was meant to turn out like that.

Although I think your crochet is a damn sight better than I'd ever be able to do! I don't have a talent. Love all your outfits, that first dress is particularly beautiful xx

Funny, I'm annoyed at my huge bosom today, because it's all swollen and sore...but SO admiring your beauties!!! Gawd, yes, what to DO with them when using a bow and arrow?! Must be why the Amazon's cut one off. Ugh!
You are such a laugh, and must be such a fun Mum to have!!! I never fancied cowboy boots as much as I do now having seen you rock them! XXX

  7. yup, boobies thrust east and arms almost 13o degree west caused minimal twanging - but bosoms do need their own care package, poor you - my children do not recognise my awesome-ness yet hehe x thank you for all your lovliness!! x

  9. Oh Gosh... Talents????? I was always involved (as was my entire family) with MUSIC. I played piano, clarinet and sang... Went to college and majored in Music (Voice and Education).... Teaching was a talent too I guess since I did it for several years. These days, this ole active 71 yr. older just enjoys hiking/traveling/yardwork/genealogy/birdwatching --and of course, blogging and Facebook.... None of that is considered talent I guess --but I'm happy and doing what I enjoy!!!!
    Hugs,

Talents...hmmm. I have a head full of factoids that come in handy in a pub quiz, I can ride a horse and do a really good impression of Katherine Hepburn. All very useful I think you'll agree.x
