I may be the love child of Liberace and Dolly Parton

As much as I love learning about Art, I also love to indulge in my slight obsession with glamour.
Of others.

I pressed a Google+ button, I am no longer Sandra
but Peaches McGinty

Here's Anastasia Beaverhausen
I may have been inspired

Dolly Parton
'People always ask me how long it takes to do my hair, I don't know, I'm never there'
I adore her

Liberace
'I didn't dress like this to go un-noticed'
what joy! if only I had a cape like this

Illusion
fuzzy lights
I don't really look like this

Looking at this makes me giddy with glee

Father Ted
'My lovely horse'
it's been in my head since yesterday
your welcome
hehe!

Have a glittering weekend
may sparkles be showered upon you

I will be linking up to Sacramento's share-in-style tomorrow
'Be Free'
I'm feeling it, feel free to join the party

The Inept Gardener is inspired

I've discovered Pinterest! I know it existed but I'm enjoying the creativity of it all, so far I have found the biggest feather show girl head dress ever made, chocolate cake and other lovely things, hence it's page name 'all things lovely'.

I am also moderately keen to do something to the garden this year, after years of sorting most of the house out it's time to do something in the garden.  When I see Sue's and Curtise's lush garden's I always feel inspired to do something with mine

Some can look and see potential (Mr F included)

I have none.......and I am aware I can't have a proper waterfall, fire pit, outside cooking area......or one of those trampolines embedded in the grass but I do want a tiki tiki style bar.  I don't claim to be sophisticated!

This following pics may be painful for those blessed with horticultural finesse.

When we moved in to this house 6 years ago, the garden looked like this, bountiful and full of colour. Top left was an aviary, and the white building is our shed, which I won't go in as it's damp and full of spiders, and whiffy.

now
we killed the garden

I do count the survival of my chilli plant as a triumph

I have also come to the conclusion I need a tripod
it's taken me 8 months
This is what I'm using

Cookie...........I know, she looks like she's pole dancing

Whiskers is a grumpy cat, he was incredibly aggressive when he was younger.  After his 'special' operation we hoped he'd calm down, he has a little but is still prone to lashing out, and then at times he wants lots of love and attention.

I figured out to put my felt head piece on a head band and have had it planted on my head since
it was inspired by Brooke's brilliant felt head piece tutorial

I look like I'm pushing him away, I'm not! multi-tasking - pose and stroke.

a 2 second timer,  I stubbed my ankle on the printer

Last time I wore this top I was still clueless, I kept it and followed Coco's suggestion to put something underneath it, it worked! thanks Coco!

Of course since blogging I have discovered more is more!
these were my daughters
now mine, I love cast-offs!

Inspiration is a wonderful thing, and I love being inspired by all of you wonderful bloggers
I'm a sponge
I absorb a lot
translating ideas is often beset by my incompetence
that's part of the fun though

Thank you for all your wonderful comments on my last post
I apologise for not responding, I have read them all and value them immensley

Have a wonderful week!
I'm off to do laundry, woop!

Art Friday-esque

I went to The Tate last week, to check out some modern art.

I was allowed to take photo's on the ground floor and the fourth floor if I paid *cough* what?

My type of chandalier

Standing Forms - Graham Sutherland

The Visit - Willem de Kooning

Disbellmered - Richard Hawkins

Another Hawkins
I realised I was a little pissed off with him (nah, I was really, really pissed off)
I don't get it at all

I loved this though
Free Radicals - Len Lye
I'm a dancin' to the beat, African drums and popping images

I have an invader in my posing room

Invader!!!

My Eldest daughters coat
I was in the mood for a shed load of faux
I will be sharing with Anne and her 52 pick-me-up 30's

.........and then I 'borrowed' her foundation
and Missy's blusher

I still prefer my Little Red

It was like being wrapped up in a BIG synthetic bear

I was taking this as Mr F was getting changed into his pants
I threatened him if he's on the pic he's on the blog
he nearly fell out the room
*me cackling*

Sunny Rain

An outside pic

If

Life is a funny old thing, ups and downs along the way are to be expected.
Yesterday Mr F confirmed he is at risk of redundancy, we were expecting it.
I went to meet  Little Miss-ette from school, she walks a little of the way by herself.
She luckily avoided being run over, she walked into the road and a legendary woman driver stopped in time
We walked with a poor woman who screamed in shock,  I reassured both of them.
Once I got us home I cried in the kitchen.

I went to training, I'm having a period, I notice the broken wing mirror Mr F told me about and remembered I forgot to phone the fire company because our new fire has a broken ignition.

It's life

During training I pulled out my compact and reapplied my lipstick
warpaint
Let's deal with it
with sparkles

Phenomonal Woman - Maya Angelou (an exerpt)

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

If - Rudyard Kipling (an exerpt)

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

Of course, I slightly disagree with 'don't look too good' but I know what he means!

There are worse things that can happen

Luckily everyone is fine

We take a deep breath and keep walking. There are no guarantee's in life, it's why I live as I do.  For as long as I am here I want to have a bloody good time.  When crap happens, it has to be dealt with and when I walk past two women most days to pick up my daughter, who like to look me up and down and stop talking to each other, I take no notice.

'Or being hated, don’t give way to hating'
quite bloody right Rudyard!

I hope you are having a wonderful week, and I hope you don't mind my waffling on!
and thank you for all of your lovely comments on my last post
you are all
PHENOMENAL

Work, noun - a task or tasks to be undertaken

Or, in the wise words of Britney Spears - 'Work Bitch'  (I do find the title rather catchy)

I  have worked a lot this week
and refused to wear tights regardless of the colder weather
I shaved for goodness sake

Finally, Friday, I gave in

Training finished on Friday and resumes Tuesday
Training bores me
3rd day in, my colleagues and I decided not to get drawn into the trainers efforts to liven things up
e.g. Me 'What do you mean there is no such thing as an atom?'
and
'What do you mean there is no such things as germs?'
despite years of robust winding up from my brothers
I'm still a sucker for it

My rabbits have a disturbing Bunny Brunch problem

I had promised Little Miss-ette I would paint her room ages ago
I bit the bullet yesterday
I loathe painting
but the wise words of John Lydon 'Anger is an Energy' do help
I paint and whine rhythmically

It's the smallest bedroom, and it still took 7 hours!!
obviously with breaks
I'm not a machine hehe!!

the paint is still wet here
'Mum, can you do a feature wall?'
apparently I can!

My painting skirt/dress
and painting hair
and my lovely Eldest

Little Miss-ette crowned me Queen of Painting

Queen of painting
drinking

Today, because of the laws of decorating
 my laundry has multiplied exponentially

but I am on a day off, Hurrah!

the loft suitcase opened for me to stuff coats in
Missy spotted my 'Natalie Wood' dress
which is now in her wardrobe
she said she would wear it to a Black Tie function
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today

Wednesday, I received this

Thank you again Jo,
I love it!
and it will be framed this week

I'm linking in to Sacramento 'Share in Style, Watches' as I am wearing a pendant watch and with Anne 52 pick me up: Go Green.

Primal Scream
Country Girl
I LOVE this

I will be catching up with you all
I hope you are having an awesome weekend
