I put myself back in the choir

Firstly I would like to apologise for not responding to any comments, I have read them and would like thank you all for your lovely words.  Little Miss-ette's assembly was lovely! Since then I have had 2 sick children  (minor tummy wobbles) and ruthlessly attacked my wardrobe. A lot went to the British Heart Foundation, and my specials are resting for now in the attic.

Saturday, we went out to get shoes for Missy and a bag for Little Miss-ette
I have been losing/misplacing my brooches in a shocking manner
I know a  few places which are excellent for brooches
all of these on the cushion cost about £5 (oh chazza's! J'adore!)

my brooch box was one of my Christmas present's from the girls, they get a £10 budget to go to Chazza's, isn't it lovely?

Something quite wonderful happened too
I found clothes that fit me
This bolero was whipped of the mannequin so fast it probably felt violated
£2.99
I wore it to work on Sunday

A circle skirt for £1
I couldn't believe it either
it's of the highest quality polyester

I was removed from the choir because I couldn't 'sing'
and miming wasn't acceptable

this jumper probably cost £2
it's been waiting for a friend

This dress cost £4
my boobs look massive, that's because my boobs are massive (I do forget how big they are..... why and how??)
I was rather chuffed though
and why are louvre doors deemed acceptable as a changing room door?

I am linking in with Awesome Anne at http://spygirl-amb.blogspot.co.uk/
'Lots of dots'

I am loving my bolero

it has ruffles

Culled

Reasons why I cull carefully
This is years old

my aron cardi was passed to me by my Auntie
these were soooo fashionable in Liverpool in the 80's worn with white buckskin shoes

I am also trying to figure out Bloglovin and Google+
I have to claim my blog on Bloglovin
and Google +? is it like Facebook? I don't have Facebook
It is messing with my tiny mind
there are circles, I'm not sure what I'm doing

what's new!

I hope you are all having a wonderful start to the week
and what's with the weather?

bloglovin claim blog code, I hope this works

  1. I know - the weather. Glorious sunshine (at times) yesterday; pissing down and grey today. Humph.
Ooh, I'm not surprised you whipped that bolero of the mannequin (hope it's recovered from the shock) and a circle skirt if Finest Polyester for a quid is marvellous! Love both frocks, and between your majestic bosom and Helga's, I feel positively flat-chested... Boobs are great till they won't fit in a particularly lovely dress, or you want to wear something with a button front; then, they are a pain.
Excellent work on the culling, and nice to see you have been reinstated in the Choir. Sing loud and proud, Sandra!
PS. Louvre doors = obviously unacceptable. Also unacceptable are saloon doors, and narrow curtains which leave a gap at one side for Peeping Toms, and for your arse to poke through when bending over. Charity shops - sort this out, please! xxx

    1. Boobs! blooming pain at times, soooo many pretty frocks have evaded me! anyhoo you have a wonderful chest and a hot bod! my singing is dire as is my knowledge of lyrics (and avoidance of certain words i.e sex on fire, Kings of Leon becomes 'your huh is on fire') I do think the charity shop doors need addressing pronto, the doors I used opened onto the shop floor and there ain't anything pretty about me in mismatching stealth type under garments! x x x

  2. Actually, it's snowing where I am and we're supposed to get 8 to 12 inches. I don't look forward to shoveling later but at least I get a day off from work!
Also, love the brooches and the dress and bolero! Speaking of chests, I wear a minimizer most of the time and am dreadfully self-conscious. As Pastcaring says, I can't do button-fronts since I look very matronly and frumpy.
Where do you work? I would love to be able to dress up for work but working with children means snot and poo, so nice clothes are sort of a no-go.
    Have a good day, cutie...

Buttons! blooming pain, I sew them down, because they will gape and my bras aren't attractive hehe! hope you haven't had anymore snow btw and I work in a call centre and can wear what I like, hurrah! I have worked in a school and understand exactly what you mean! and I worked in a High School! x x x

  3. Well what fabulous finds ... I'm particularly partial to the polka dots ... they're a weakness of mine.
Now since you're an art school drop out ... you'll need something to keep you busy ... the choir should do the trick ;0)

  4. How I love all your dots. Especially that scarf.

I truly hate the change rooms where there is a small curtain with large gaps on either side. Last week I was in a vintage shop that had NO door. Granted it was in the back of the shop…but seriously???

    I love the "finest" polyester : )

You are inspiring me to go through and edit my closet as well. Especially since we are in the middle of yet another winter storm. The snowbanks on each side of the driveway must be 6 ft tall now.

    bisous

    1. Dear God! 6 ft of snow, we tend to have a meltdown over a few inches! well done for braving the changing room without a door too, is that where you got your gorgeous cocktail dress? it was worth it! x x x

  5. Love your dotty dress, especially with the little pink dotty scarf! And so many pretty brooches, and that massive bosom to pin them on!

Bloglovin and Google+ aren't that difficult to figure out. I'm thinking of going back to my Blogger Reading List, though - it's just easier and I'm already signed in.

  7. Finest polyester and a bolero nabbed from a mannequin, thats the best type of shopping!
I have no shame, I'll often strip down to my knickers and try stuff on the shopfloor. Those louvred doors at the Heart Foundation always seem to have a massive gap down the middle though, don't they? You look gorgeous in your polka dots! xxx

  11. Score! So many lovely treasures! Those brooches are amazing and a circle skirt for practically pennies - awesome! And who cares if you violated the mannequin. I bet the bolero looks so much better on you than it did on it anyway! Hope the kids are better now and good luck with all that confusing modern technology and social media - I have no idea how it all works either! XXX

  12. Loving all of your pretty outfits. The skirts, the hats, the polka dots! Gorgeous. I still haven't looked at Google+, but it's on my list of things to sort out for my blog soon, too. I think I have an account already since all those Google accounts seem to come with having a blogger account, whether it's wanted or not! But I have no idea what the deal is with it! It's pretty easy to sign up to Bloglovin, though, and you can transfer all the blogs you follow through Blogger in a split second. Good luck! xx

I have Facebook and LOVE it. I have Google+ --and don't care for it.. It is similar to FB --but not near as good I don't think. I have Feedly instead of Bloglovin...

  14. Oh gosh, you and I do share a pash for brooches, don't we? I got the most amazing one the other day. I paid a whopping $32 for it, but I had to have it. Came home and looked it up. It's selling for about $150 online so I did alright. Wait for an upcoming post to see it.

You are just so cute in all these outfits. I bet you're cute no matter what you wear.

I recommend google+ but you'll need some guidance at first. I'm lucky that my partner is good at that kind of thing. My readership has increased a lot since I got on there just a month ago. I see you're on there too but not very active. At first, just start by making sure all your posts are on your page. Also join the 40+ style bloggers "community." You'll find some familiar faces there. Start there and see where it takes you.

  24. I love that you violated a mannequin in your excitement on discovering the bolero, which by the way is superb. Totally LOVE the polka dot frock, I am a huge fans of SPOTS and STRIPES, in fact it is bordering on an obsession. I cannot sing either but I am a very appreciative listener because I cannot mime very well.

  26. Hello lovely Sandra,

We actually had some sun here in Wales today, but some crazy storms are on their way again tonight apparently.

I love your new finds and am in awe of your lovely brooch collection.
I love brooches too, I must remember to blog them all at some point.

Loving your choir brooch :) Get singing missy! I'm sure you could belt out some amazing tunes!

I have Google+ but I can't say I find it of much use really, I'm relatively new to facebook (if 4 months is considered new) and I like it much better than Google+ and Twitter to be honest. It's much easier to learn/understand and adapt to.

    Have a wonderful weekend xx
