Some dreams come true

I had a dream about finding vintage clothes that fit me, I also have had dreams about getting some dodgy, scabby tattoo's and running a B&B without towels (Val at Muse Fondue spoke about her excellent and much more interesting dream in a recent post)
I have also been itching to go vintage/chazza shopping.

Now, I know me and vintage shopping aren't very successful, it's a size thing, however it doesn't get me down or depress me at all.
On the contrary, I am optimistic that one day I will find some heaven.

This shop was shut
There were showgirl head-dresses in the window
I nearly licked the window,
 I am  desperate for a showgirl head-dress

I have seen the most beautiful garments today
I ooed and ahhh-ed over some extraordinary pieces
a fitted blue sheath with an attached chiffon cape
a black fitted peplum jacket with a massive bow to the side of the neck
2 dirndls,2!!
I am also desperate for a dirndl, I love love them!

Public selfie's, I am getting quite brave

I made Mr F take a pic of me
even though he was in his music heaven

He was very sad
this awesome shirt didn't fit

It's a Miss Marple look today
a  detective in knitwear and a warm hat is quite appealing

Mr F happier

The most romantic paracetomol in the world
we both had headaches, I had 2 tablets left
Mr F let me have them

I got this groovy jacket

this looks better in the pic
actually now I look at it, I think I should have got it

I loved this sequinned piece of gorgeous
it wasn't quite right on me

I found her
'red' in Oxfam

it doesn't quite fit and I couldn't give a monkey's
this coat is flaming gorgeous

I don't think it's that old

the groovy jacket and label

I really liked this
it's see through
obviously to be worn with a sturdy vest underneath it

I will be linking in to Anne at http://spygirl-amb.blogspot.co.uk/ 'dress like your favourite cocktail' which is a Long Island Iced Tea

and thank you for your comments on the previous post, I loved them!  I have another sleepover tonight (2 in 2 weeks? wtf) I need to get cracking on with the cleaning *sigh*

I hope you all have a BRILLIANT weekend
till next time lovelies

  1. Oh please don't lick the windows. You'll need all sorts of nasty medicine. This is the most romantic beautiful day. I can hear violins as your sweetie gives up his headache pills for you. Lovely lovely purchases. You are quite the movie star. <3

  2. I can see why you wanted to lick the windows. I want to go shopping there!

That is true love…giving you the last pain killers.

I am so loving that orange jacket and the lace blouse.

Huge bummer that the cowboy shirt didn't fit your man. It is brilliant.

Looks like a really fun day.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. That shop looks insane - we definitely need a blogger's day out to Liverpool. Love the orange jacket with the petal collars and the Dannimac ( proper quality that, used to sell it in Debenhams!) What a shame that western shirt didn't fit, Jon would kill for it!
Barcelona looks a cool bar to hang out even if it was only paracetamol you were necking.
What a lovely day out. Have a fab weekend. xxx

  4. What a lovely day out - I enjoyed vicariously shopping through you!

Shame about that cowboy shirt - what size is Mr. F? Next time I go thrifting, I'll keep my eye out (an eye out?). We have tons of cowboy shirts 'round these here parts, pardner ... ;o)

  5. I actually laughed out loud when I read the words "I nearly licked the window" - you're so funny!

Aww, your handsome hubby gave up his paracetamol for you. That's so sweet :)

I love all your finds, especially the red coat, it really suits you!

Have a wonderful weekend dear Sandra xx

  8. The red coat - awesome!

In the 1950s when I was a child I longed for two items of clothing. A dirndl skirt and a wind cheater - rust coloured with a cream lining and a zip. I got neither and I think it is too late.

    1. Thanks Maureen! and no! never too late!! a dirndl skirt is a wonderful thing and your wind cheater sounds pretty, I think it would be lovely if you got to wear them x x x

  9. Ooh, gorgeous red coat, and I love the petal-collared jacket. I think you could have rocked the sequined marching band jacket as well. And you would definitely rock a showgirl headdress!

  11. Everyone should own a showgirl headdress, don't you think?
Love the orange jacket you found, and the two that didn't make it home with you are rather fab too. But never mind, you got a vintage Dannimac coat, hurray! I tend to think anything that says Made in England on the label is a vintage piece, so little clothing is actually manufactured here any more. (Look on Google images, there are some great vintage Dannimac ads, including one with Twiggy wearing a very groovy yellow coat.)
Ooh Mrs, make sure you remember your vest when you wear that little lacey number. Bet Mr F won't have a headache then...
Love your crime-fighting knitter look. Good luck with the sleepover (did one here last night, I went to bed before they did...)
Have a lovely weekend, Sandra! xxx

    1. How much fun would it be to have a showgirl headdress? ahhh, I think feathers and sparkles are a wonderful thing! thanks for the info on the Dannimac, I'll have a bit more knowledge for future jaunts and yes definitely a vest required for the lace top, I tried the Madonna with underwear look for it, I nearly caught a cold!! haha! sensible idea going to bed before them too on the sleepover, they don't blooming sleep at all! x x x

  12. How brilliant would a showgirl head-dress be? Amazingly brilliant with any out fit I imagine. Love your capelet and beret ensemble but what a shame that shirt didn't fit the Mr because that is seriously cool. Why do the best things never fit??? (I am talking from experience here and could cry over all the lovely frocks that just wouldn't make it around this body of mine!) Have a great weekend! XXX

    1. Oh the 'too small' frocks! I hear ya! and it's how beautifully made they are too, exquisite detailing, I could go on and on!! I think the showgirl headdress would make everything better!! and with a wiggle too, have a fabulous week Brooke! x x x

  13. I'm with Sandra, we all need showgirl headdresses, just like Tiaras!! Miss Marples, you looked fabulous!! I love the drug sharing, how romantic of you and Mr F. Red coat is a score, who needs it to be done up anyway. I hear you on finding vintage to fit, such tiny waists and lack of boobage they had back in the day, not like us voluptuous wenches now!!

    1. We should all have one (or 12)!! a gardening headdress, or a food shopping one, actually that would be like a Carmen Miranda style! thank you Sue and yes them boobies are hard to fit in so many things ( and my waist too!!) but, I found 2 dresses today in the chazza's that fit! I'm soooo chuffed! x x x

  14. You know it's true love when they give up the headache pills for you … if they gave up the television remote it would be starting to get a bit creepy obsessive. I love the red coat … you look like a Snow White version of Little Red Riding Hood.

  29. I love your outfit here - so elegant, lovely and fun at the same time! I am with you - not experienced with vintage clothing and often think it is sizing. But we'll learn! You spotted some good stuff at your thrift shops. I really love the long orange coat (maybe you can come back and get it - it looks gorgeous on you!), but everything else looks really great too. You are such a charming gal! No wonder your husband gave you the last two pills! How could he resist? :)
