Moonstruck eggs

I love the film Moonstruck, it's such a film of love, passion and discovery.  Nicholas Cage's seduction of Cher is memorable, his passion for music is palpable and intoxicating.
In the final scene, Olympia Dukakis cooks breakfast and makes eggs meanwhile affairs end and love begins, food is central to the drama.

Today I felt like some Moonstruck eggs for breakfast
It's a bizarre craving, but sometimes it is only this that I want. And some music.

Yesterday, I  discovered my camera has a timer
The time was going to come where my lot would be bored with my prancing around getting photo's

State of the art tripod

practising on a 2 second timer

Jacked up on caffeine, in anticipation of my late shift

I'm on my own!
I had a blast, and felt liberated in my photographic independence

Cookie is never impressed with my nonsense
and shows me how to do it

I realise my pictures are pretty bad
2 seconds means I do this a lot

and this

This is best I've got!

I can't quite comprehend just how much joy I feel through learning something so simple
but I do

While I am on a roll
I am on a Tracy Ullman kick
'Breakaway'
hope it works

I hope you all have an amazing weekend
and a big Hello and welcome to those who are new
and if you feel like
let me know any of your tummy butterfly making films

see you soon

  2. Ha! That's brilliant! I learnt how to use my timer a fortnight ago and most of the time the camera went off before I could get into the frame! You've done much better! Have a fab weekend. x

  3. I love love love that movie. Great bathos from Cage and surprisingly good acting from Cher.

Also enjoy the talented Tracey Ullman. Do you know what famous TV show got its start as a brief skit on Tracey's variety show? "The Simpsons"!

  6. Love the polka dot ensemble and the floral dress on you! Fabulous. The grey dress is also gorgeous.

Does your camera not have a 10 second timer as well? Mine gives me the option of 2 seconds, 10 seconds, and 10 seconds with multiple shots. I'd never get in place in 2 seconds. Lol.

  9. Oh I remember the joy of discovering my camera's timer, and like you I constructed some rickety towers for the camera to sit on that Macguyver would of been proud of. It is so liberating not to have to rely on someone to take photo's for you and much less embarrassing. Love all your shots and now you have made me hanker for Moonstruck eggs. XXX

  11. I love Moonstruck so much! Best speech ever: "Loretta, I love you. Not like they told you love is, and I didn't know this either, but love don't make things nice - it ruins everything. It breaks your heart. It makes things a mess. We aren't here to make things perfect. The snowflakes are perfect. The stars are perfect. Not us. Not us! We are here to ruin ourselves and to break our hearts and love the wrong people and die."

    SO GOOD!

  14. I'm late here too, bad me.
Before I bought a tripod (only cheap, off Ebay) I used to balance my camera on the ironing board with a pen under the lens to stop it tipping over. High tech, that's me. Get a tripod, it'll make things loads easier, honest, and you'll enjoy it! You'll be able to go outside, set that timer, and pose away for the amusement of your neighbours!
    You always look beautiful. xxxx

    1. My poor neighbours! they can get the washing in, in about 20 secs anyway I think to avoid eye contact with the prancing queen I am (they are actually super lovely!)
Will definitely scout around for a tripod, and thank you x x
